Base Knowledge

General Knowledge about the importance of communication and some pathologies related to communication difficilties.

Teaching Methodologies

Expository, demonstrative and active group teaching. Vídeos will be discussed and analysed, role-play will be
experimented. Aumentative and alternative communication means will also be explored The participation in class
activities will be recognized as though group work and apresentation . Written evaluation on the program contents.

Learning Results

– To improve comunication skills with people whith some communication difficulties;
– To know and to characterize several ways of human communication;
– To improve verbal and non-verbal communication and to familiraze students with supportive technology to
smooth communication difficulties;
– To be aware to the specificity of communication disabilities in disable people and in gerontology;
– To identify people with communications issues and to understand their difficulties;
– To know non-oral ́means of communication and facilitating strategies to an effective communication.
