Teaching Methodologies

The training is oriented towards the integration of theoretical knowledge (T) with practical know-how (P), present in almost all classes (TP). Students develop various activities and works that simulate situations of professional intervention.
This uc is exclusively continuous/frequency assessment that includes the following elements:
Element 1 (40%) – Theoretical-practical work (40 to 80 points);
Element 2 (40%) – Written tests (40 to 80 points);
Element 3 (20%) – Classroom participation.
The classification is obtained by the sum of the results in the 3 elements, but negative classifications in the elements 1 or 2 (less than 40 points) count zero (0) points in the sum of the 3 elements.
The appeal exam has as a condition of admission the achievement of a minimum of 40 points in element 1, and will consist of a theoretical test (100 points) and a practical test (100 points). To pass, students will have to obtain at least 50 points in each of the tests.

Learning Results

1. Know the specific characteristics of populations and the necessary adaptations in physical exercise recommended for training in the following stages of life: pregnancy and middle age.
2. Know the etiology and specific characteristics of populations with the following types of chronic pathologies: cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, diabetes, obesity, eating disorders.
3. Know the predictable interactions between the effects of physical activity and the evolution of selected chronic diseases.
4. Know how to select exercises and activities for people with special populations.
5. Know how to plan and guide, in a simulated situation with colleagues, exercises and activities suitable for people with special populations

Program

1. Organic and morphological changes and specificities of physical exercise suitable for pregnant women and middle-aged adults;
2. Etiology and main differentiating characteristics at an organic, morphological and psychological level of people with the following clinical conditions: cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, diabetes, obesity and eating disorders;
3. Benefits and risks associated with physical activity for people with the following clinical conditions: cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, diabetes, obesity, eating disorders;
4. Specificities of the planning and guidance of adequate physical exercise for individuals with the following clinical conditions: cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, diabetes, obesity and eating disorders.
