Teaching Methodologies
The adopted method proposes the theoretical explanation of concepts and models, from literature review and consultation, the participation in exercises of journalistic production and the elaboration of a final project. The continuous evaluation results from executing and delivering the individual proposed exercises (50%) and from the assessment of the final project (50%).
Learning Results
– Recognize different interpretations of the concept of Convergence, applied to media studies.
– Identify differences in the properties of the journalistic product between traditional and emergent platforms.
– Recognize new tools for journalistic production in the Internet.
– Create and adapt journalistic products for distribution across several platforms:
– Write for Internet publishing.
– Review written text about shape (orthography, grammar, dimension and style) and content (thoroughness, accuracy and completeness).
– Shoot using photography or video, respecting principles of ethics, mechanics and aesthetics.
– Create supporting graphics.

The properties of the journalistic product in the Internet: searchable, clear and hypertextual.

– Principles of shape and content in writing and editing text
– Principles of ethics, mechanics and aesthetics in producing and editing photography and video
– The production of graphics to support content
– Adaptation of printed news to publish in the Internet
