Teaching Methodologies

Classes take a dynamic character, incorporating: 1) combination of magistral lessons, combining systematized knowledge and information presentations with critical analysis, based on texts and practical exercices; 2) data analysis, supported by specific software. Students can opt for continuous assessment or evaluation by final exam. Continuous assessment is achieved by: 1) presentation of group work; and 2) a written test (50%).
Evaluation by exam includes a written test on all course content (100%).

Learning Results

Students must be able to:
– develop a critical view of the disclosure of information supposedly objective and rigorous;
– pick up and appropriate the research design to the problem and the context from which it emerges;
– know the forms of identification, manipulation, control and measurement of variables; – choose, characterize and select the subjects to be used in research;
– consider the necessary conditions for a possible populational and ecological validation of the results;
– know the construction methods / suitability / choice of instrument collection data and their adjustment to the case of research;
– adjust the statistical tools for data processing to its nature and intentions of the study.
