Seminars in Clinical Physiology

Teaching Methodologies

The curricular unit will be taught in a theoretical-practical format, based on the problem-based learning method, with a privileged discussion on relevant topics introduced in the class, and which allow a practical integration of theoretical concepts, namely through the analysis and discussion of cases. The assessment of the course takes the form of a written work, corresponding to the resolution of a clinical case framed within the subjects covered throughout the semester in the course.

Learning Results

This Curricular Unit aims to consolidate content developed in the 1st cycle in Clinical Physiology, contributing to sustain the learning of the specialization subjects that will be developed during the 2nd semester. In this way, the intention is to consolidate the knowledge acquired through a teaching model eminently supported in the resolution of clinical problems (problem-based learning), challenging students to apply the knowledge acquired in na integrated manner in challenging clinical scenarios, through which the students will mobilized blocks of prior knowledge for a more articulated and immediately available knowledge for application in realistic and challenging clinical settings.

Program

• Problem-based learning in Electrocardiography;
• Problem-based learning in Electroencephalography;
• Problem-based learning in Cardiovascular Ultrasound;
• Problem-based learning in Sleep Medicine Diagnosis;
• Problem-based learning in Studies of Respiratory Function
