Knowledge of Descriptive Statistics and Probability Theory. Statistics I.
Teaching Methodologies
The classes are theoretical and practical, according to the curricular plan.
Theoretical component: explanation of the subjects and resolution of illustrative examples.
Practical component: resolution of practical exercises that illustrate and complement the subjects presented in the lectures, under the guidance of the teacher, but encouraging autonomous resolution.
Learning Results
The main objective of this subject is that students have the knowledge and know how to use the two techniques of inferential statistics: Estimation and Hypothesis Tests.
It is intended that the students of this subject acquire:
– Knowledge of the main sampling techniques;
– Ability to use the information contained in a sample (representative) for the purpose of making decisions and drawing conclusions for the population.
