Teaching Methodologies

The TP contents will be presented in expository sessions. The PL classes will be presented through oral presentation, demonstration, observation / correction and specific didactic material for each block.

 

The evaluation will be made by continuous evaluation or final exam (200 points (p) = 20 values).

 

By continuous evaluation:

1. Participation in classes and other activities: 10 p

2. T test: 90 p

3. PL test: 100 p

 

For access to the final examination evaluation, students must obtain a minimum of 80 points on the practical tests.

 

By final exam:

1. Theoretical test 100 p;

2. Practical tests 100 p.

 

The access to the practical test is conditioned to obtaining 50 p in the theoretical test.

Learning Results

1. Identify and understand the specificities of the Swimming modalities, within the scope of the Portuguese Swimming Federation; history and evolution; current trends; practice objectives; installations and equipment

2. Understand and explore, in different fields of professional intervention, programs and actions of promotion and implementation appropriate to the context in which the practices of the chosen modalities are developed: adaptation to the aquatic environment; pure sports swimming; synchronized Swimming; water polo; jumps to water

3. Plan, operationalize, intervene pedagogically, describe the techniques, analyze situations of practical and competitive exercise and rescue techniques, integrating in all phases of intervention the basic knowledge of the field of sports sciences

1. History and Evolution of Swimming; objectives of practice; installations and equipment

2. Adaptation to the aquatic environment

2. Specific technique and didactics of pure sports swimming: alternates – Crawl  and Backstroke ; simultaneous – Breaststroke and Butterfly; realization and improvement of the 4 techniques; exploration of pedagogical progression (PP)

3. Synchronized swimming technique and didactics

4. Specific technique and didactics of the aquatic pole

5. Specific technique and didactics of water jumping

6. Water rescue
