Teaching Methodologies

Oral presentation complemented with a wide range of media (video, slides, posters) with a strong participative
approach. Analysis of case?studies, resolution of exercises and technical field trip. Invited talks on emergengin
topics.

Learning Results

(A) Masters the concepts and terminology associated with waste management.
(B) Is familiar with the waste legislative framework.
(C) Understands the economic dynamic related to waste production and their environmental impacts.
(D) Knows the waste properties and main indicators related to waste management in Portugal.
(E) Knows the relevant waste management operations and is able to discuss and analyse alternatives and
integrated strategies.
(F) Understands how special waste streams are managed, namely, packaging waste, mineral oil wastes and
construction and demolition waste.
