Program

Theoretical Classes (6 hours)
1. Measuring instruments, their calibration and handling; Review of some fundamental basic anatomy content for the identification of reference points; Notions of ethics (obtaining consent, measurement etiquette, measuring women and children, ethnic and cultural sensitivities);
2. Notions of absolute and relative guarantee, precision and validity of measurements;
3. Basic notions of body composition assessment (BMI, sum of fat folds, regression equations, waist/hip ratio);
4. Basic notions about morphological typology (morphological types, somatotype and somatogram).
Practical Classes (18 hours)
1. Location and correct marking of the following anthropometric reference points: acromiale, radiale, mid-acromial-radiale, triceps crease and biceps crease site, subscapulare, subscapulare crease site, iliocristale, iliocristal crease site, iliospinale, supraspinale crease, abdominal crease site, crural crease site, calf perimeter and calf crease site;
2. Adipose folds: marking of reference points, handling the adipometer and obtaining measurements;
3. Perimeters: marking reference points, handling the measuring tape and obtaining measurements;
4. Basic Measurements and Diameters: handling the anthropometer and small curved compass, obtaining measurements;
5. Obtaining the 21 measurements that are part of the restricted profile sequentially and determining the technical measurement error in three subjects (preparation for the exam);
6. Practical exam
