Teaching Methodologies

The following teaching methodologies are used in this curricular unit:interpretation and analysis of the legal provisions and exposure of contents by the teacher and its discussion with the students; resolution of practical real case studies and court decisions by the students.

Learning Results

It is expected that by the end of the course each student is entitled to:

a) know the terms of the material legal protection of industrial property rights and its enforcement, especially in the cases of trademarks, appellations of origin / geographical indications, patents and utility models;

b) register industrial property rights;

c) know the terms of contracts on industrial property titles, such as its transmission and licensing;

d) recognize acts of unfair competition and related legal sanctions.

Part I – Industrial Property Law

1.Introduction to industrial property law.

2.Analysis of specified industrial property titles: patents; utility models;topographies of semiconductor products; industrial designs;trademarks,designations of origin and geographical indicationslogotypes

3.Contracts on industrial property rights transmission and license.contracts on trademarks in particular. transmission, licensing and merchandising brand the special case of the franchising contract.

4.enforcement of industrial property rights.
