Teaching Methodologies

Classes consist of two components, theoretical and practical, in order to provide the student with an
acquisition of knowledge structured on theoretical foundations and validated with practical application
tools. The student will have access to the slides that the bibliography includes as well as the study material
developed by the teacher.

Learning Results

Goals:

  • This course aims to provide students with conceptual and instrumental skills in the areas of electronic commerce. Including the approach to new models of electronic commerce and business, such as the use of web 2.0 and social networks.

Skills:

At the end of this course students will be able to:

  • Explain the main concepts related to e-commerce,
  • Explain theprocess of introducing e-business applications into an organization,
  • Explain the e-business technology and infrastructure,
  • Discuss the security and law issues involved in conducting business transactions on the internet.
  • They will be able of develop an “online” presence based on a website, on social networks and through the development of applications for the “smartphone”.
  • Tey will be capable to measure and validate the results of the strategies and the
    different business models implemented, based on metrics supported by web analytics.

  3. E-commerce infrastructure: the internet, the web and “mobile” platforms.
  4. Development of an online presence: website, social networks, mobile sites and smartphone applications.
  5. Security and payment systems in e-commerce.
  6. Electronic marketing in digital business.
  7. Customer relationship management (CRM).
  8. Demand and supply chain management.
  9. New trends on e-commerce.
