Emerging Topics in Physiotherapy

Base Knowledge

Knowledge acquired in the UC of the course and on transversal subjects related to current societal challenges.

Teaching Methodologies

Exposure: to present the topics/content, raise issues and guide the learners’ approach;

Use of different case studies to co-create and discuss the topics under study;

Discussion and problem solving in small groups (4-5 learners), common or diverse tasks.

Learning Results

After completing the course unit, the student should know, understand and be able to:

Recognise emerging topics and areas of intervention for the physiotherapist, as well as the societal challenges of the 21st century to the physiotherapist;

Critically analyse new approaches and relate them to evidence-informed practice;
