Teaching Methodologies

The classes will be taught in a theoretical-practical regime.

The expositive methodology will be used for the presentation of the curricular unit concepts, supported by practical experimentation through the realization of application exercises of the transmitted concepts, in computers. The practical experimentation will try to get closer, whenever possible, to the situations that students will encounter in their professional life. In addition to the lectures, students will develop during the course two practical works.

Learning Results

This curricular unit aims to provide students with instrumental and analytical skills in the field of Business Information Systems, namely knowing the main systems in use in companies today, with emphasis on Business Process Management and Business Intelligence systems that will enable them to participate in the future in the creation of management control and reporting tools to support decision making.

In terms of competencies it is expected that the student will be able to

  • Specify, design and implement business process management system;
  • Specify, design and implement business intelligence systems
