Base Knowledge
This course is intended for students who have basic knowledge of French at the Level of A1.
The level to be reached will be level A2, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Course oriented towards oral practice and, more strictly, to written practice, also integrating a cultural aspect in its Francophone dimension.
Especially recommended for students participating in exchange programs with Francophone countries.
Teaching Methodologies
Exhibition of grammatical contents and vocabulary;
Worksheets/ consolidation of knowledge, in order to develop oral and written comprehension/expression, with exercises of a different nature (association / correspondence / completion of sentences / texts / questionnaires of true / false / multiple choice questionnaires / question/answer questionnaires);
Observation / oral description of images;
Listening to texts and video viewing;
Didactic conversation / “jeu de rôle”;
Peer/group work.
Learning Results
Acquire basic knowledge in French. At the end of the course, students should have sufficient skills to maintain dialogues, either on the phone or in commercial establishments, expressing their wishes, providing and requesting information or programming events. They should also be able to write small formal letters or short notes and correctly use the proposed verb tenses for this level.
− Oral competence: oral comprehension and expression, from contemporary documents of the Francophone world
− Written competence: mastery of the lexicon of the specialty as well as the basic and complex structures of the discourse, in different types of documents.

Grammar
Personal pronouns; verbs in the present tense; near future tense; past participles; imperfect tense; prepositions of place; adjectives; adverbs; COD pronouns; comparatives.
Vocabulary
Time; numbers; indicators of time; expression of cause, expression of obligation; expression of a wish; telling the chronology.
Reading Comprehension
Understand isolated sentences, frequently used expressions on immediate priority areas (simple personal and family information, shopping, immediate environment, work).
Listening Competence
Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
Academic and Commercial Writing
Can write a simple e-mail or a simple formal letter.
Speaking
Can describe in simple terms his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
