Expository method, using theoretical presentations of the syllabus.

The previous method is complemented with the use of the Inquiry-based learning or research-based learning method, as students are guided to the elaboration of research work and analysis of scientific articles.

Learning Results

 The main objectives of this course are:

  • Expose the evolution of Human Resources Management (HRM) and its importance;
  • Present the fundamentals on the process of attracting, developing and retaining human resources essential to achieving the organizations’ objectives;
  • Address the fundamentals of the challenges and practices of HRM in an international context.

 

In short, given the above objectives, it is expected that at the end of the semester students will be able to:

Expose the main HRM concepts and policies;

  • Critically analyze the main HRM models;
  • Dissect the most recent developments in critical areas of HMR and deepen the interrelationships between these areas and the general management of organizations;
  • Integrate HRM in the context of the organization’s business, as well as in the social, political and economic context in which the organization intervenes;
  • Designate the challenges and opportunities that are presented to HRM managers in each organization, as active elements in the preparation, implementation and control of strategic actions;
  • Have the ability to investigate a particular topic within the concrete scope of HRM.
