Teaching Methodologies

The subjects and bibliographic references are presented in theoretical and practical lessons. Students practice gymnastics and prepare written work on the subjects.

Assessment is by frequency or by final exam (200 points (p) = 20 marks).

By attendance:

1. written test: 40 p

2. Written work: 30 p

3. Class Participation: 30 p

4. Practical evaluation in the area of gymnastic motor patterns: 100 p

Per exam:

1. Access to the exam is reserved for students who obtain at least 70 p in the practical evaluation in the gymnastic motor patterns domain.

2. The exam consists of one written test

Learning Results

1. To promote the acquisition of knowledge about the specifics of gymnastics, its origin and historical development, current institutional framework, regulations and judging, educational philosophy of the FGP, apparatus in gymnastics and gymnastics spaces.

2. To promote the acquisition of knowledge and skills in the execution of gymnastic-related motor patterns, taking into account the idea of body as a means of construction of gymnastics-related movement, posture, body balance and range of motion.

3. To promote the acquisition of theoretical knowledge about gymnastic nomenclature.

4. To promote the acquisition of knowledge about general and specific physical fitness in gymnastics.

5. To promote the acquisition of knowledge and skills on short, medium and long term planning, including the development of training session plans.

6. To develop didactic competences on training guidance.

7. Develop assessment competences in gymnastics

1. Characterization of gymnastics in the context of sport.

2. Historical and institutional framework, regulations, spaces and equipment.

3. Motor patterns, posture, balance and range of motion.

4. Physical preparation of the gymnast.

5. Pedagogy and didactics in gymnastics.

6. Planning and orientation of gymnastics training sessions.

7. Testing and evaluation of gymnasts
