Theoretical lectures using slides and videos. Practical classes with resolution of exercises and laboratory experiments.

Learning Results

At the end of this course unit the student should be able to: properly use knowledge in the area of instrumentation, with a view to selecting and integrating this knowledge in a problem of measuring variables in chemical and microbiological processes and analyzes. Recognize the transmission signal and the factors that can disturb it. Understand the control cycle of variables in industrial processes. Master the basic metrological concepts. Acquire notions of verification and calibration of instruments and equipment.

Program

1. Introduction. Measurement and units. Signal and transmission. Control cycles. 2. Classification of instruments. PI&D symbology. 3. Sensors and transducers (Pressure, Temperature, Flow and Level). Biosensors. Nanosensors. 4. Basic notions of metrology and representation of experimental data 5. Calibration of instruments and equipment.
