Internship and Report

Base Knowledge

It is assumed that the student has successfully completed all the MGEA course units.

Teaching Methodologies

The internship follows a methodology of learning by observation and by insertion in professional practice, which begins with observation, and progressively more autonomous practice.

The student begins by observing the work of Managers and the institutional dynamics, participates in team meetings and orientation sessions with the institution’s supervisor, and progressively observes the different functions associated with the institution’s production and/or management, and then taking on more autonomous tasks and functions, always under the supervision of a teacher who makes it possible to prepare and anticipate the difficulties inherent in that performance and, subsequently, discuss its application and results, in conjunction with the institution’s supervisor.

The intern is responsible for developing their report, and it is up to them to take the initiative to request individualized support from their supervisor. Regardless of this initiative, the supervisor periodically meets with the intern to discuss problems related to his performance. Initially, this support is aimed at preparing the internship project, focusing on determining the object(s) and objectives of the study and intervention, and building the most appropriate strategy, as well as bibliographic and documentary support .

Meetings with the supervisor must be carefully prepared by the intern so that they can be relevant in responding to his/her doubts and concerns.

As this is a final moment of the Master’s, reflection is encouraged on the path taken by the intern, which enables him to demonstrate the skills developed, the disciplinary contributions applied in the internship, the perceived gaps, a deontological attitude and inquiry into his practice.

Learning Results

The Internship has as general objectives the direct contact of students with specific training areas in Psychology of Human Resources, Work and Organizations, and the acquisition of skills necessary for professional integration.

More specifically, the objectives are:

– deepen the knowledge acquired in the Section’s Curricular Units;

– articulate knowledge with professional contexts;

– acquire specific assessment, diagnosis and intervention skills in an organizational context;

– contribute to the personal development of students;

– acquire adequate attitudes to the different levels of interpersonal, group and organizational relationships.

Program

The internship adopts a model of learning through direct experience, which implies that the internship activities are accompanied by readings and group or individual discussions under supervision, throughout the different phases and tasks that the student will develop throughout the internship.

The internship takes place in appropriate professional contexts of management and/or production, and implies that the student has contact with an institution and with the different functions and forms of integration of managers in that institution. y

The contents already worked on in previous UC’s, related to the different functions of evaluation and intervention, are resumed in a perspective of discussion of its application and its potentialities and limits.

The contents addressed in supervision are selected according to the internship context, the integration phase and the tasks that the intern will carry out throughout the year, and aim to allow articulation of theoretical and methodological contents with their concrete application to the national context.

Supervising and reading the intern’s report allow the supervisor to recommend readings, assessing methodological and procedural rigor, the quality of the action developed and the autonomy and capacity for innovation demonstrated.

With a periodicity to be scheduled, seminars can be held, with a variable theme, in which theoretical issues are deepened and practical issues are debated, chosen for their relevance to the development of the interns’ projects.

They correspond to moments in which trainees actively participate, either by taking responsibility for its dynamism, or by sharing productions and experiences, knowledge and perplexities, in an attitude that is both rigorous and reflective.
