Base Knowledge

For Portuguese students, this curricular unit only requires the knowledge needed to access the MSc degree. For foreign students it is advised to have basic knowledge of Portuguese geography.

Teaching Methodologies

Classes are theoretical and practical, after the theoretical presentations, the practical situations will be presented with National examples. The lectures will be performed using videos, photographs, power point presentations, practical demonstrations at animal farms.

1- To know the main livestock production systems in Portugal.

2- Understand factors that condition productivity of the main portuguese livestock production systems.

3- Identify the main quality parameters of livestock products and quality certification systems.
