Teaching Methodologies
This curricular unit is a space of discovery, experimentation and consolidation of competences of reflective and practical domain in the area of local development. Thus, classes integrate the combination of systematic expositions of information and knowledge with critical analyzes, based on texts, documents and practical cases.
Students can choose one of the following modalities: continuing assessment or final exam evaluation.
The continuing assessment is continuous, based on written, individual and/or group work and class participation. Students whose weighted average of the marks obtained in the different evaluation elements is equal or superior to 10 values will be approved.
Assessment by final exam consists of an individual written test. Students who score more than 9.5 points will pass the exam. Students who score between 7.5 and 9.4 will have the right to take an oral test, and the final grade will correspond to the average of the classifications obtained.
Learning Results
1. Understand the development dynamics and models, the concept, main problems and policies of local development
2. Understand and relate economic, social, cultural and environmental factors of development in a perspective of sustainability
3. Understand the role of local cultures and identities in the processes of a community sustainable development
4. Understand the importance of local responses as a contribution for solving global problems
5. Identify and manage local resources effectively and efficiently in an integrated development perspective
6. To know the territory planning tools and the management of the local resources inherent to the sustainable local development processes.
7. Know how to compare, select and apply the different methods of participatory strategic planning, adapting them to different situations and contexts.
8. Know the policies and mechanisms to support Local Development in Portugal.
