Teaching Methodologies

Theoretical-practical classes will allow students to understand all radiological signs and structures evidenced in CT, RM and DEXA.

Pathological aspects vs. normal radiological anatomy and image analysis that reinforce a diagnostic assessment will be focused, in addition to additional measurements to be performed in each exam performed.

In practical classes, a file of medical images will be used and exercises will be carried out that enhance the consolidation of knowledge.

All image manipulation techniques available in General Radiology work consoles will also be performed. Free access image visualization and manipulation software will also be used.

Learning Results

The student must acquire knowledge of:

Radiological anatomy in Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance (MRI) and Bone Densitometry (DEXA) procedures
Normal radiological signs according to the procedure

The student must acquire skills to:

Evaluate and identify the radiological procedure and its diagnostic acceptability
Manipulate general CT, MR and DEXA images efficiently
Identify anatomical structures in the images of the mentioned methodologies
Assess radiological signs in CT, MR and DEXA procedures
The student must acquire skills to:

Identify and assess anatomical structures and radiological signs present in CT, MR and DEXA procedures
Evaluate the images produced, making decisions about their quality and acceptability according to the context and clinical conditions of the patient. Including the decision about the absence or presence of possible pathology or trauma.

Program

  • Identification of examinations and anatomical structures on CT, MRI of limbs, chest, abdomen, spine, skull and on DEXA.
  • Analysis of CT and MR procedures performed without and with contrast.
  • Verification of quality criteria.
  • Identification of radiological signs.
  • Normal and abnormal image evaluation.
  • Image manipulation with a view to its improvement for greater diagnostic accuracy.
