Teaching Methodologies

As this is a theoretical-practical curricular unit, regular attendance and active and critical participation from students will be strongly requested during classes.

There will be moments of expository nature, under the responsibility of the teacher, alternating with text analysis and practical exercises.

 Real situations of communication and oral and written expression will be analyzed.

Learning Results

General:

This Curricular Unit aims to provide students with general knowledge associated with the subject – methods, techniques and instruments, through the development of necessary and essential skills for the effective performance of functions in a dynamic and demanding context in which Secretarial and Management and Administration professionals operate.

 1. Communication

1.1         Understand the importance of communication in an organization;

1.2         Recognize the different types of communication;

1.3         Recognize the importance of effective communication;

1.4         Identify barriers to communication;

1.5         Know the importance of image in communication;

1.6         Understand the importance of a secretarial professional in the internal communication process;

1.7         Recognize individual interpretation as a crucial factor in communication.

2.1        Define creativity;

2.3        Recognize the importance of critical and analytical thinking;

2.4        Identify the essential factors in decision making.

3.1    Define the concept of leadership;

3.2    Know its importance in the organization and in the activity of a secretarial professional;
