Teaching Methodologies

Classes are theoretical-practical (TP).
In approaching the themes, audiovisual and digital media will be used to present the content and examples that illustrate them, as well as practical cases and exercises in class, individually and in groups, to encourage active participation.

The pedagogical methods used will be: expository, interrogative and exploratory, enabling a practical and interactive approach.

Additionally, students will progressively develop their research proposals, which will be presented to their colleagues in the classroom, ensuring active participation in the learning process. This will contribute to the creation and sharing of ideas, as well as the consolidation of knowledge learned at each stage of the research process.

Whenever possible, researchers will be invited to present their work and share the methodologies they apply.

Tools that facilitate learning and stimulate students will be used, making use of educational technology, such as: Kahoot, Socrative and Mentimeter.

Learning Results

The purpose of this curricular unit is to provide students with knowledge and research techniques in the area of social and human sciences, enabling them to prepare the work plan for the non-teaching component of the master’s degree and to develop scientific research independently.

At the end of this curricular unit, students should be able to:

  • Know and understand the scientific procedure and the phases of research in social and human sciences
  • Critically review literature relevant to the research topic
  • Identify the appropriate methodological approach
  • Identify the different information collection techniques
  • Know and apply the rules for citation in text and bibliographic references
