Teaching Methodologies

The classes will be theoretical-practical based on the exposition and discussion of the contents of the program and on solving practical examples. We will emphasize a practical work applied to a task in the area of ​​horse management and organic production, resulting from research work developed through the semester in class. We will try to promote a dialogue process in which everyone participates, according to their own experience and knowledge as well as their studied cases. The tutorial classes will be a support to do a practical work, done by groups of 3 students at least and 4 at most, in their working hours (contact and others), which will be submitted to analysis and discussion by the students in the class.

Learning results will be evaluated in a formative and in a summative way through the development of a technical itinerary project for creating and using a product and a written test.

Learning Results

Health and Safety at Work has as goal promote the prevention of occupational risks and the defense of workers’ health. It is intended that students, after taking the U.C classes, have acquired skills with regard to the evaluation of professional risks, the management and control of those risks and the establishment and implementation of safety procedures.

1. Basic concepts of Safety and Health at Work: fundaments, legal framework;

2.General risks and their prevention: identification of risk factors, evaluation criteria, elementary risk control systems, collective and individual protection;

3. Specific risks and their prevention by sector of activity;

4. Safety and Hygiene Plans. Safety procedure sheets.
