The aim of this course is to promote the construction and development of knowledge, practices and attitudes in the field of Health Education , aimed at training qualified professionals for a qualified and informed intervention in the various contexts in which they exercise / can exercise their action.
The course is organized into three training components: Health, Cross Training and Intervention / applied research . At attending and passing the first year corresponds to a graduate with 60 ECTS, which ensures the development of skills to ensure the enrichment of knowledge, reflections, experiences and integrated practices on key learning areas covered in the course.The development of two years of the course gives a 2nd degree cycle, since it involves the design, implementation and evaluation of an intervention project in the field of health promotion, applied in real contexts. The final product is a project work or an internship. The project work components or stage match, 48 ECTS. The study plan includes, in the 1st year, the offer of 8 optional units (two in each semester). It is intended that these options are likely to fill gaps or respond to training needs arising from professional practice. At the same time due to cross- training, encompassing the fields of health, environment, expressive therapies, physical activity, differentiated education, etc. In his the SC set includes, in addition to the development of the cognitive domain, the procedural and attitudinal development in key areas for the organization of a professional knowledge base. It also aims to promote the agent’s professionalism and organization of their work compatible with the requirements of the profession.The intervention component / applied research promotes the articulation of the various fields of knowledge, whether at seminars or in the project work / internship. For its implementation it was decided, by a original work project or an internship report . It is intended, thus ensuring a reflection on the practice, strengthening the development of applied research skills. The design and planning of the respective professional intervention projects in different contexts, education and / or health , can take place in conjunction with national or international institutions. There simultaneous data collection for research, taking into account the research indicators from different areas of knowledge and faculty course support. It shall be a public examination of defense of the work done using examiners from other national or international higher educational institutions.
Access is in accordance with the 2nd Cycle of Studies Academic Regulation for IPC’s courses.
The course provides professional opportunities: intervention in various educational and health contexts, namely in schools, kindergartens, day care centers, day care centers, social support institutions for vulnerable populations, educational centers, prisons, health centers, rehabilitation centers, hospitals, among others.

The Master Diploma in Health Education grants qualification to continue studies in a PhD Degree.
