Course Objectives
The course aims to equip graduates in physiotherapy of professional skills that allow a specialized level, assess the changes of movements and develop, implement, monitor and modify therapeutic intervention programs by the movement in response to the users’ specific needs. The aim is to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills of application on a detailed level about assessment, measurement and movement analysis; measurement and assessment of results of therapeutic intervention processes. The design or systematic application of intervention methodologies that focus on movement, postures, or activities, in order to prevent or treat disability, improve function, reduce risks, optimize health in general and improve physical aptitude and welfare. The adoption of practice based on evidence. Research methodologies, design and analysis, applicable to scientific and clinical issues. Original applications in the context of applied research.
Access Conditions
In accordance with the Academic Regulation 2nd cycle of studies courses of IPC, can apply for access to the cycle of studies leading to a master’s degree: a) Holders of a bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy or legal equivalent; b) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree conferred following a first cycle of studies in physiotherapy, organized in accordance with the principles of the Bologna process by a state adhering to this process; c) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree, recognized by the technical-scientific council of ESTESC as satisfying the objectives of the degree in physiotherapy; d) Holders of a school, scientific or professional curriculum revealing the ability to enroll and enroll in the master’s degree in physiotherapy in the specialization area of evaluation and clinical application of movement, namely: (i) being a physiotherapist with a minimum of five years of practice of the profession; (ii) hold a bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy and hold a degree or its legal equivalent in another area of knowledge. The recognition referred to in subparagraphs b) to d) of the previous number only has the effect of granting access to the cycle of studies leading to a master’s degree, not granting its holder the equivalence to a bachelor’s degree or the recognition of that degree.

Learning Objectives
The general objective of the master’s degree in Physiotherapy is to thoroughly qualify students for the assessment and intervention by the movement in order to promote autonomous, responsible and independent exercise of Physiotherapy in all levels of intervention in health care, with a broad and global vision based on the best evidence available. Are enhanced the skills and capabilities to assess and implement the process of Physiotherapy intervention based on human movement, as well as the communication of the conclusions and knowledge and the reasoning underlying them, clearly and without ambiguity. The training is framed on level 6 of the European qualifications framework, allowing the international circulation of the graduates.
Access to Superior Studies
The master degree allows the application to postgraduate studies.
